Classroom Rules
PLEASE NOTE: Students must have this paper returned and signed by the end of the first week. If returned by the end of the week, there will be 10pts added to their marking period grade.
- Be On Time. After the bell rings at the start of the class, you will be marked tardy, unless you have a note signed and dated from an adult/ staff member.
- No Eating. There will be no food, gum, candy, or beverages allowed in class. Failure to apply will result in consequences such as a warning first, then a disposal of the item. (PLEASE REFERE TO HANDBOOK).
- Respect. Treating everyone with the highest regard is the only acceptable action to take. Disrespect will not be tolerated.
- Profanity. Any words or expletives, (including derogatory remarks) will not be tolerated. Failure to apply will result in consequences such as a warning first, a call home second, then a referral to Responsibility Room.
- Restroom Pass. You are allowed only two restroom passes for the entire semester. Use them wisely as well as your time in-between class time. (If there is a medical problem, please make me aware by a signed note from your parent).
- Clean- up. You will be given time at the end of each session to clean up. Before you leave your station/ desk, the floor, sinks cabinets etc. musk be clear. I will not allow you to leave if areas are not to my satisfaction.
- Materials. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, put materials back in the place you acquired them and take care of them. Materials are very expensive and need continuous care. Special materials are under lock and key. You will need assistance for those from me.
- Theft. If a student is found taking away materials that were not authorized by the instructor, that student will be subject to automatic suspension.
- Homework. You will be asked periodically to do some research and writing at home. This will be averaged into your overall grade.
- Class work. All class work must be turned in on the date I have assigned. Late work will not be accepted, only under special circumstances such as illness, death in the family or testing.
- Dress Code. Please refer to your handbook. If for any reason you are not dressed appropriately, I will first discretely give you a warning. Second. I will contact parent's) or guardians. Third, send you to the main office. Please note: Showing of underwear, cleavage, halter tops. Low fitting paints and very short skirts are grounds for me to approach the matter. Remember this is an educational setting and you are young professional. Please dress appropriately.
- Electronic Devices. Cell Phones, games, Ipods etc., are not allowed during class time. Please turn to page 17 of your handbook for reference. Failure to follow appropriate rules can result in confiscation or suspension.
- Seating Charts. Every student will have an assigned area. I reserve the right to reassign or un- assign you to another location within the room if needed.
Failure to conform to the Student Handbook (which supports these stated rules) can result in some type of disciplinary action. Please review packet.
Note:
In concordance with the aforementioned, it is imperative that students, along with their parent, review the class syllabus. By correlating both documents, e.g. rule sheet and syllabus, students have full knowledge of the expectations the instructor has for the student.
